Generally, I have been using this type of electric file for quite a few years and indeed the best lifespan is one year. The worst thing about this specific one is that it has a special head, which does not have replacements and even the replacements from the same company do not fit. So, after 3 months of use, when the roller wears out, it becomes useless and you can't use it.
