In the years that have elapsed since the previous edition of the work "Narcotics", the legislative framework regarding narcotics was re-regulated by law 4139/2013. The reissue of the work was deemed necessary in order to take into account this significant legislative change, as well as the case law of the criminal courts in recent years regarding narcotics.

The provisions of the law are accompanied by special bibliography and case law, as in the previous edition, as well as excerpts from the Explanatory Report, in order to make clear to the reader the changes that have occurred with this legislation.

The logic of the previous edition was maintained in the work regarding the systematic presentation of case law, depending on the topics covered, in more sections: objective substance - injustice, subjective substance - guilt, attempt, participation, problems of flow, issues of procedural law, etc. The choice was made to keep unchanged, within the relevant entries and titles, the terminology of each decision. Thus, for example, the term "drug addict" is used in some positions (instead of the more correct "dependent offender"), as it appears in the relevant case law. In order to facilitate the reader, the summaries of the judicial decisions applying the new law on narcotics are marked with a special symbol (an arrow).

Furthermore, where necessary, brief explanatory comments are provided by the authors. The case law published until the autumn of 2016 was taken into account. The edition is supplemented by Presidential Decree 148/2007 and general bibliography.
