This particular collection sheds light on another side of Wittgenstein: that of the writer. It is widely argued that his German prose is a significant contribution to Austrian literature. However, the beauty of his reflections does not stem from any peculiarity of his language (except perhaps in the concise, Doric, one might say, expression), but rather from the depth and weight of the thoughts expressed in this prose. The ideas contained within these reflections are profound, innovative, disruptive, charming, and often with an invisible sense of humor.
