Description

The unique ambition of this study is to contribute to the analysis of the character of Greek society by initiating a systematic discussion on the phenomenon of dependency, as it is presented on a global scale and specifically within the Greek context. The author's fundamental belief is that the problem of social change is closely linked to the problem of the structure of economic relations in general and the relations within the specific production (in the process of work) prevailing at a given moment in time.
However, this is not said in the usual doctrinal sense that the economic infrastructure is (even "ultimately") the determining factor, but rather in the relative autonomy recognized in the superstructure; relative, in the sense that the economy determines the relative degrees of autonomy/dependency of the superstructure in relation to itself, and of the parts among themselves.
