This book deals with the concepts of culture and its expressions, in Greece and abroad.

The first part attempts to give the genesis of culture as a creation of the wonderful human mind and its various expressions in the realm of spirit and art.
It refers to music, dance, visual arts, folk culture, and tradition.

The subject of culture is enormous, which is why efforts to preserve cultural goods are a gigantic task undertaken by UNESCO, assisted
by member states. Its work includes global conventions, rules for the preservation and conservation of world cultural heritage.

The second part of the book deals with the research on recording the cultural evolution of Athens from 1860 to 1914, studying the type of the era, newspapers, and magazines. A wealth of publications from that era is presented, through which the image of Athenian society is portrayed in its attempt to create a way of life, blending the cultural elements of the Ancient, Byzantine, and Western civilizations of that era.
