bad construction very easy to tear in the protruding corner, the screw struggles to screw with the slightest bit of sand
Good construction that lacks in the screw's pass. (By adding a little WD-40, you extend its lifespan)
After several years of use, it broke.
Since I deal with repairs, even though this specific one is not worth it, I improvised with a clamp and another screw and gave it another 20 years of operation
Sturdy construction but not suitable for windy conditions. In the Cyclades, with winds of 3-4 Beaufort, it was the only base that stood among all the ones on the beach. It flew away and almost hit someone three times. The cheaper plastic screw-in anchors held the umbrella pole much better. And the shock-absorbing poles held better as well. Also, the tightening screw gets stuck and is difficult to screw and unscrew.
The threading of the clamp is not good. From the first or second use, you realize that it has a limited lifespan.
In the port, a sudden gust of wind lifted her up in the air at 6 meters. Thankfully, she didn't crash into anyone!!
Sturdy and reliable base for beach umbrellas with a pole diameter of 22-33mm. It easily sticks into the sand without much effort and effectively supports the umbrella. The price is very fair for what it offers. There are certainly bases that look the same as this one for half the price, but the metal material is thinner, resulting in them bending after some use. You get what you pay for!
I have had them for 8 years. Literally. And if I haven't used them. I replace them with the same ones, because the screws that tighten/fasten the umbrella pole to the base rusted. Maybe I'm also to blame for not rinsing them with seawater after each use. I could have repaired them with a "trick" but I preferred to buy two new ones. By far the best beach umbrella bases I have used! Easy to install, simple to use, sturdy, stable, high-quality. I can count the times I was afraid that they wouldn't be able to hold the umbrella in place because of the wind. They may be a bit expensive, but they are worth the money. I highly recommend them!
