I have painted it with varnish, I think the wood would have cracked more than it does now (it is on the balcony all year round and it doesn't get wet). It has rounded corners. The only disadvantage is that it is a bit short.
It is cute and fits perfectly in our area. The color has not faded, but we are bringing it in for the winter.
Solid acacia wood, good enough for construction, but it wasn't stable as one leg needed about 1cm to properly touch the floor (basically supported only by the 3 legs), resulting in a slight wobble. It was easily fixed though (by placing a piece of cardboard under the leg) and now it is stable, but it was still a "trick". The texture is also not "smooth" (as I would prefer) although it is not "rough" either. It is probably oiled instead of varnished (which is why it has a slight roughness in its texture). The color is slightly lighter than the dark "walnut" color shown in the photo (which was positive for me). As for durability under sunlight, etc., time will tell...
