Autumn 1942. Hitler's legions are sweeping across Europe. France has surrendered. Churchill and the British are isolated. In North Africa, Rommel and his Panzers have routed the British Eighth Army and are preparing to capture Egypt, the Suez, and the oil fields of the Middle East. While the outcome of the war hangs in the balance, the British conceive a desperate plan: they send a small, mobile unit with heavy weaponry behind German lines to deliver a blow that would halt the advance of the Afrika Korps.
The author, who has become synonymous with recounting ancient wars, presents a book centered on a World War II story based on the true exploits of the Long Range Desert Group. Steven Pressfield narrates in a unique manner the insight, agility, and daring of this remarkable historical commando unit, detailing the tactics, weaponry, and special skills required for combat under the particularly harsh conditions of the desert. By combining historical accuracy with thrilling battle scenes and the psychological profiles of his heroes, he creates a gripping story.
"Killing Rommel" was released in America in the spring of 2008, and the film rights were secured by Walt Disney Pictures.

Very nice book (like everything I have read from this author), it's a shame that it didn't become a movie as it says at the end.
