In the context of the study, the conflict regarding abortions is analyzed from a philosophical and constitutional perspective, after a brief historical overview. On the one hand, the right to life and the value of the embryo are examined, and on the other hand, the woman's right to self-determination.

At the same time, issues concerning conflicts of interests, both collective and individual, are examined. For example, the interest of collectivities (e.g. a state) in stabilizing or increasing their population, or the interest of the prospective father in the birth of his child against the preferences of the pregnant woman. One of the key points of the relevant dialogue, which concerns the work, is the question of whether the embryo can be perceived as a person. Subsequently, the most important legal milestones regarding the right to abortion are critically examined. Then, the attempt to find a compromise solution by the philosophical and legal academic community is discussed.

The work concludes with drawing conclusions regarding the appropriate stance of the law towards the highly conflicting ethical and legal issue of abortions.
