I struggled to sew a fur cover with velcro that also had glue on it. At some points, I had difficulty and it would stop (fortunately, because the needle would bend from the glue that accumulated on it) and I needed to clean it with a little oil or carefully turn the cylinder manually for it to pass through. At some point, the bobbin gear slipped a step and it wouldn't gather the thread, but I easily fixed it with a screwdriver without even having to undo anything. I did not use it with batteries.
