The steering wheel is excellent. I have had it for a year and a half, with a total of about 1000 hours in various games, with Assetto Corsa and BeamNG being the top ones. It is also very enjoyable in Assetto Corsa Competizione and iRacing. I am really satisfied. The force feedback allows you to understand exactly what is happening with the car, you feel every oversteer or understeer, the lock-up during braking, the weight transfer in turns, etc.
For example, in a high-speed turn, the steering wheel becomes heavy as you turn. If you turn more, at some point the wheels start to slip and the steering wheel lightens up. This way, you understand the understeer. If you experience oversteer, the steering wheel initially lightens up and has the tendency to turn to the other side. When you turn, initially the steering wheel is relatively light, and as soon as the weight of the vehicle settles on the side, you immediately feel the weight transfer and the steering wheel becomes heavier. If you turn abruptly to the other side, the steering wheel will initially lighten up a lot and gradually you will feel it becoming heavier on the other side. In cars with soft suspensions, this feeling is very characteristic and very helpful to react to possible loss of control.
Compared to a Logitech, the difference is huge. I did not expect this when I bought it and I did not know if it was worth the price difference, but we are really talking about a completely different feeling. Due to the belt it has (as opposed to the gears of the Logitech), it operates very smoothly, you do not feel the teeth of the gears in every degree the steering wheel turns.
Although it does not have tremendous power, it is capable of catching you off guard and throwing you off completely if you are relaxed. For example, in a crash in BeamNG, if you do not hold the steering wheel tightly, it is very likely to jerk your hand. Not strong enough to injure you like Direct Drive wheels do, but it clearly has a good acceleration. Of course, if you hold it with force, you can resist any force and generate it. In no case does it have the power of a direct drive, but under normal conditions, you will feel everything that the motor sends.
Due to the speed of the system with the belt, you can also drift and the steering wheel responds and manages to follow the movement of the car. This does not happen with Logitech, and you end up turning the steering wheel yourself for counter-steer. Also, very good for rally games.
For me, the big shock was at some point when I was playing Assetto Corsa on the Nordschleife with the Praga R1, and at high speeds, you could feel all the vibrations. I did not dare to relax my hands for a moment, and the steering wheel was ready to slip away. Quite an adrenaline rush, and after half an hour, you cannot avoid sweating! Here is a video of such a lap that I have done. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BrjXsO8_NfQ You cannot see the steering wheel, but you feel 100% every vibration and movement that is visible on the car's steering wheel. In some points, the steering wheel appears quite stable, but this only happens because I am holding it very tightly!
I do not have any particular comment about the pedals. They are the T3PA, which means a much better version compared to the basic Thrustmaster pedals. I am very satisfied with their level, they are metal pedals with a good quality plastic base. I have not used the conical brake mod because I sit in a chair with wheels and I already struggle to stay in one position. Ideally, you want a rug or something to stop the chair, otherwise you will slide back when braking. For enthusiasts, there is a relatively easy way to install a load cell brake mod. The design in this model is GT-style, and I would say it's not 100% convenient for heel-toe, but with practice, you can manage. It's convenient if you play with racing games that require left foot braking. There are also T3PA pedals with a more classic design, but I don't know in which bundle they are included. Ultimately, I think you can install any pedals with whatever shape you want.
The only downside of the steering wheel is its cooling. After 30-40 minutes of intense use, it heats up and starts to lose motor power. It has an internal fan, but it's not powerful enough to dissipate 100% of the heat. Many people make modifications by adding stronger or extra fans, but I don't want to go through the process of opening it. However, it definitely helps to activate the fan permanently. The default setting is for the fan to start working only when the motor heats up, but if you simultaneously press the mode + ST buttons, the light flashes twice and the fan starts working at max speed. If you press them again, it returns to the default setting.
Edit: I should also mention the clamp on the desk. It's something that worried me, but it has a very good fit in the end. The only requirement is to have a flat surface on the bottom of the desk for about 10-12 centimeters. In my desk, there was a frame around it, so I screwed an additional metal piece at the height of the frame to create the flat surface for the feet. Generally, if you tighten it enough, it's more likely to shake the entire desk than for the steering wheel to move from its position.
Update 11/2022:
The steering wheel developed a fault. From what I read on forums, something in the hall magnet sensor in the motor has come loose. The result is a small vibration (a sudden click) and loss of centering while playing. It's a known issue and there are ways to address it either by fixing it or even as a preventive measure. But to do that, you have to open the part where the motor is located, which voids the warranty if you do it yourself. I am currently in the process of contacting TM technical support and waiting for them to accept it for repair/replacement. I will update when I have news from support.
Update 23/11: After exchanging emails for 20 days, where they asked for various information about the problem (typical procedure to rule out driver issues, etc.), they accepted it for free repair with free shipping. Now I'm waiting for the courier to pick it up and send it to France. I will update when I receive it after the repair (I expect it to take at least 1 month).
Update 12/2022:
After shipping it with ELTA (it took a week to arrive), the technicians quickly dealt with the steering wheel, and within a few days, it was repaired and they informed me that the return shipment has started. Overall, very satisfied with the whole process and the service times. With everything I had read in online forums about TM support, I was afraid of how it would turn out, but everything seems fine. I'm waiting to receive it to confirm that everything is okay, but I can't imagine any issues arising.
Final update: EVERYTHING IS FINE AFTER RECEIVING IT
