Great surprise! The box included 2 ink cartridges. (one colour one black). So it's great value for money. Doesn't have the computer USB cable in the box. Delivered in 2 days from ordering. It's probably an older design with CD included but these days it's just as quick to download the driver online. This is a basic printer without fax, without WiFi. So far so good.
For anyone who wants to do their job easily and correctly in my opinion. It doesn't have wi-fi so it doesn't delay. It is a classic value. For this money, I do my job quickly. Its plastics are not the best quality but as we said for this money I didn't expect anything else. It's enough for me that I do my job quickly and correctly.
Completely useless, impossible to align the pages and worst of all, the ink doesn't last even a month with very moderate use. There's a reason why they sell it for 30 euros. Don't buy it.
An excellent old-fashioned printer for home use at an incredibly cheap price. It replaced a printer from a well-known brand that broke down within two months and went to recycling. I chose it because it doesn't have Wi-Fi, which only creates problems for me. It has been in operation for three months now and the ink supply is holding up well. Simply perfect for home use.
CANON has started not providing drivers for old models because you can use fake ink instead of their official series. It has drivers on a CD included in the package, just don't upgrade online. I had it in white 8-9 years ago, it broke, so I got it in black. One of the pluses is that it has a scanner.
It doesn't stop printing when (it thinks) one of its ink cartridges is empty, like some printers do. Its only ink point is the cost of its ink cartridges. As a scanner and for very limited printing (200 pages every 6 months), it's OK. For more, ink-tank and laser printers are better.
After the recent damage to the power supply of my pixma ip2600, which worked continuously for almost 20 years, I bought the pixma 2550S all-in-one printer 3 months ago and it works properly and very comfortably. Surely its inks are expensive, but you know that they also contain new heads, which saves you from clogging of the nozzles and rendering the machine useless, as I had experienced in the past with a cannon 3100. I hope it lasts for years.
Since I don't have a DVD ROM, I downloaded the drivers from the internet. WARNING! You must close the firewall before installing the drivers and the program that has the corresponding functions. I didn't know this and struggled to the point where I contacted CANON and they gave me a solution. Now everything is OK and it works flawlessly
This is the second one I'm buying, the previous one got stuck within 2 years and the opening for inspection started at €30. Plus, it had other issues. I bought another one for €40 and it works perfectly fine for me. It's a good value for money for a store that I need it for, and with the ink replacement prices.
I have had this printer for 4 years and have never had any problems with it, which is why I chose it again (I didn't want to deal with new drivers or ink for other printers). I use it for simple household use, mostly my father who prints and scans bills and other files. It is quite easy to use and manage.
WARNING: It does not come with a connection cable to the computer.
NOTES
A) It is an inkjet type, so if you do a lot of printing during the week, I do not recommend it because its ink is for about 400-500 pages. It is better to go for a laser type that uses toner that produces 1000 pages or more.
B) Regarding ink, it takes PIXMA 545 and 545XL types (the 2nd is better) for black and PIXMA 546 and 546XL for color. For ink, in my opinion, always look to get them through Skroutz because you may find them on offer and at a good price. (I find them at a local store for 25-27 while online for 20)
I bought it 4 years ago in England for 22 pounds. A few days ago it started making loud noises and stopped printing. I used it for my studies there and then for home printing, scanning, CVs, etc.
It's more cost-effective to buy XL ink cartridges as they're not the cheapest.
Overall, it was definitely worth the money I paid for it, but I see that it's now priced at 60 euros and I think there are newer and quieter machines available for that price.
The only negative thing is that it requires installation from the CD for the drivers. I say this in comparison to other machines I had that worked fine with Win 10. Other than that, it's very fast
I received it yesterday, but I had exactly the same model for over 10 years without any problems. I hope the new one will be just as durable. It's perfect for home use. I use XL ink cartridges, which are more economical.
You get what you pay for!!! Nothing but problems since the day I got it!! Unacceptable plastic construction!! Better to spend a little extra money and get something that will last!!! STAY AWAY!!!!
Edit 16/11/2020: As I see a lot of movement for this particular printer, I want to inform you that I don't think it's worth 50€+ anymore... now you can get a printer with automatic page rotation for 60€... it's good, but for the price I got it about 4 years ago...
I've had it for 3 years for simple-emergency printing at home... I almost forgot about it because I always used the office one... But now, in quarantine days (hopefully this comment will stay and I'll see it in 3 years), the printer seemed more reliable than ever!
I got it for 35€ and it had black and color ink of small capacity...
Ink is ink. It's not a laser which means printing is not fast, doesn't show detail and it's not quiet...
But! what can you do if you want to give simple document prints?
Installation is very easy with great features (always wired) in scanning...
I got the "400 page" original ink once, but I have a feeling that the imitation I have now has given me a lot more pages! The difference is 8€...
It's definitely not a multifunctional machine for today's standards...
But if we're going to look at what they offer us today, we'd say let it be color (which it is, but with compromises), let it have a fax, let it be wifi, let it be laser, let me be able to print photos in good quality, let it, let it, let it... But you can't have it all and say "let it be under 100€..."....
I got it for 18 euros on Black Friday, it's excellent for simple household use, of course if someone wants to have it in the office and print constantly, they should buy a slightly better one! It's perfect for home use!
Owner of this specific printer-scanner for a week now.
Excellent impressions in all its functions.
The only downside: it does not come with a USB connection cable in the package.
I highly recommend it.
It took me about half an hour to install it. Generally, it's fast for its price. If you need it for simple printing, it's OK, but I don't think it can do anything else. But for 35 euros, it's OK.
Update 12/12/19: It just ate my paper and never worked again! Don't buy it, you'll just waste your money. I printed only twice and it barely worked.
The Printer costs 31 euros and together with shipping and cash on delivery I paid 40 euros. So I gave a decimal more while I could have bought a better one for 50 euros. It came without protection. Anyway, it doesn't print well, useless construction quality and I have it for decoration
Value for money printer for home use.
Note that it DOES NOT come with a cable for connection to the computer, but I used an existing one from an old HP and there was no issue.
Very good printer, it has a scanner and the prints are very good... the only downside I would say is that it doesn't have a USB for connection to the computer and I had to go and get one.
2. ~15/7/2019 2-3 months ago it wouldn't take paper in to print, it would get stuck and fold... this happened suddenly... I was slow to write about it, I just wanted to mention it now for informational purposes
Instead of spending 60 euros on a purebred scanner, I got this tool and do my job for 29 euros.
Since I'm not going to print, I put the ink on without removing the security tapes, otherwise it won't work.
Very light use, for home, let's say 3 scans per month. No problem so far, good value for money.
For 29 euros, I believe I shouldn't search too much, it does its job more than enough, sometimes it takes a little longer to start and makes a bit of noise as if it's going to break, but it produces good photocopies and prints.
