The most family-oriented celebration of the year is approaching and here I have gathered some favorite movies that you can watch with your children during Christmas. In case you are not a parent, you can become a child again for a while and enjoy these movies alone or with company.

#Home Alone | Home Alone (1990)

What can one say about this movie? It can be included in all lists of favorite Christmas movies. Whether we are talking about children, adults, comedy lovers or thriller enthusiasts. It is one of those movies that have marked an era and that both young and old eagerly await Christmas to sit together on the couch and enjoy it.

The plot is well-known, but it's worth mentioning to remind the old and introduce it to the younger ones.

Kevin, the youngest child of the McCallister family, is accidentally left behind in Chicago while the rest of the family prepares and departs for Christmas vacation in Paris. Thus, Kevin ends up home alone, while his parents realize his absence when they have already landed in Paris and do their best to find an available flight to come back. Meanwhile, young Kevin has to face 2 aspiring burglars and deal with them on his own.

#Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992)

Okay, just when we thought there couldn't be another movie like Home Alone, the sequel comes out two years later and it's just as good.

This time, the entire McCallister family is at the airport to fly and spend Christmas in Miami, but Kevin boards a flight to New York alone, where the rest of the movie takes place. With plenty of cash and money-filled cards, he manages to rent a hotel room and start his adventure in the city. Unfortunately (or fortunately for them), he encounters two familiar faces, the thieves from the first movie, and the action begins.

#The Polar Express | The Polar Express (2004)

It is an animated film with a fantastic plot. Another Christmas masterpiece, worth watching with your child, an ode to the magic of Christmas. A little boy boards a train on Christmas Eve, heading to the North Pole and Santa's village. During his journey, the little boy learns about friendship, generosity, and the spirit of Christmas, while discovering himself and learning that as long as you have faith, the miracle of life never fades away.

#Christmas Carols | A Christmas Carol (2009)

In this film, we relive the story of Scrooge, the classic novel by Charles Dickens, in which the miserable Ebenezer Scrooge wakes up suddenly on Christmas Eve from spirits that reveal the truth about his existence. They also remind him of the mistakes he made in the past and the opportunities he missed, as well as the harm he has caused.

Furthermore, they reveal to him how his fate will unfold, which will be fatal if he does not try to change the way he thinks and acts. Is the magic of Christmas enough to change Scrooge's mind and allow him to redeem himself for the bad deeds he has done?

Despite the fact that the film is animated, the voice of the stunning Jim Carrey can transport you, convey the messages, and immerse you in the atmosphere of the film.

#Grinch | The Grinch (2018)

In 2018, another movie is coming to add to the collection of the beloved green character, The Grinch, which tells the story of a cynical grump who lives a solitary life in a cave on Mount Crumpet with only his faithful dog, Max.

The Grinch only sees his neighbors in Whoville when he runs out of food, and every year when Christmas comes, they disturb his peaceful solitude with their celebrations and voices. When the Whos declare that they are going to make Christmas three times bigger this year, the Grinch realizes that there is only one way to have some peace and quiet, and that is to steal Christmas. To do so, he decides to pose as Santa Claus.

Meanwhile, Cindy-Lou Who, a young girl filled with holiday spirit, conspires with her group of friends to trap Santa Claus as he makes his rounds on Christmas Eve, in order to meet him in person and thank him. However, as Christmas approaches, her well-organized plan threatens to collide with the Grinch's more sinister scheme. Will Cindy-Lou achieve her goal of finally meeting Santa Claus, or will the Grinch succeed in stealing the joy and magic of Christmas from the Whos?

This is a funny, heartwarming, and visually stunning movie, a worldwide story about the spirit of Christmas and the unwavering power of optimism.
