Batman Day
Saturday, September 16: A day dedicated to the most famous superhero of DC Comics!
And yet, the beloved and world-famous superhero & pop culture icon, has his own day, which started being celebrated by DC Comics fans in 2014, marking 75 years since the first appearance of the "Dark Knight".
DC Comics and Warner, who own the rights to Batman, organize numerous events every year to honor the superhero, who remains particularly popular even 83 years after he was first introduced to the public, specifically in issue 27 of the magazine Detective Comics, which was released in 1939.
The "birth" of Batman (Bruce Wayne)
The protector of Gotham City was created as a character by Bob Kane and Bill Finger in 1939, as a "response" to the extremely popular Superman. After the success of the latter, DC Comics wanted to enrich its "pantheon" of superheroes with a new superhero, who was none other than the "Dark Knight", which also led to the creation of some of the most historic "villains" we have encountered in comics, such as the Joker, Catwoman, and the Penguin.
