Although this type of multicookers has been on the market for many years, I did not have the opportunity to try them or see them in action, and I did not know what to expect.

Rohnson recently introduced its own multicooker, which has up to 30 different functions. I have been testing it for about a month now, so let's see how the whole experience was!

First acquaintance

Starting with the unboxing, I found the base of the multicooker that supports the pot. It has a 5-inch TFT touch screen and a rotary button for selecting functions.

The metal pot has a capacity of 3 liters with handles and quantity indicators on the inside. It has a locking lid and a small detachable lid/measuring cup. To achieve the 30 functions, the necessary accessories are included:

• Butterfly stirrer
• Silicone spatula
• Drain basket
• Steamer with base, tray, and lid

The device also features a built-in scale for the contents of the basket up to 5 kilograms, 1700W power and temperature adjustment from 37 to 180 degrees. It has 10 speed levels and can operate for up to 12 hours. It includes 200 pre-installed recipes that are updated and can be connected to the Rohnson application for operation from mobile devices.

Tests

The Rohnson R-5834 multicooker can replace many kitchen appliances and tools, such as pots, steam cookers, blenders, mixers, and food processors. For some functions, it may be excessive, such as for small amounts of cheese grating or finely chopping herbs and vegetables.

I tried various recipes, adapting the capabilities and options of the Mix & Cook:

• Macaroni with minced meat: Very easy process. The quantity is sufficient for 2-3 people.
• Focaccia: Easy dough, ready in 5 minutes. It takes practice for better results.
• Simple bread: Quick process without kneading. The result was tasty and fluffy.
• Lentil soup: Simple process with automatic boiling and baking.
• Caramel cream: Cooked correctly and was delicious.
• Chicken curry: Good sauce, with adjustments to my tastes.

In addition, I tried recipes for cakes, pancakes, bechamel sauce, velouté soup, smoothies, and more. You can use all the functions separately or create your own recipes by defining steps, quantities, functions, and times. It also has a cleaning function.

I would like the ability to customize the pre-installed recipes, for example, if I want to make half or double the quantity of something, I can specify it so that the corresponding changes are made to the quantities, weighing, and times.

Or the ability to remove some ingredients from the recipe, such as with lentils where I didn't want peppers, without having to create it "modified" from scratch.

Final Impressions

The question is: Is it worth investing 500€ in the Rohnson R-2853 Mix & Cook multicooker? The answer is "It depends"! Compared to other multicookers, such as the Thermomix that costs over 1500€ or Xiaomi's proposal at 1000€, the Rohnson is a value for money option.

The multicooker is ideal for ease of use, preparing easy and difficult dishes, and saving time and space. It is suitable for households, cooking beginners, singles, and students. If you are an experienced cook and want full control, it may seem unnecessary to you.

Overall, the value of the Rohnson R-2853 Mix & Cook is absolutely reasonable for 500€, offering many possibilities and conveniences in the kitchen.
