If you asked me, which facial product is never missing from any of my makeup looks, I would definitely mention (and) the bronzer. For me, it belongs to the top 3 products even for no makeup - makeup looks, along with blush and concealer, as it is the product that gives "warmth" to the face, flatters and many times, "completes" a makeup look. 

There are countless bronzers available in the market, in different textures (powder or creamy) and with different finishes (matte, baked, glittery, etc.), which can instantly give you a sun-kissed result, simply with a sweep around the face. Bonus, matte - cooler - bronzers can also be used in the crease of the eye to add depth, so in a quick makeup look they can "save" you, to create an easy eye look.

In this article, we will see my 5 favorite affordable powder bronzers, with different finishes, so that you can choose the ideal one for you, along with application techniques that will "ensure" a flawless result!

How to choose the right shade for you:

If you want to achieve the sun-kissed result that will perfectly flatter your skin, then you will need to find the right shade that will "blend" with the undertones of your face. You can choose either matte or shimmery bronzers, depending on your preferences, but the shade should be two tones darker than your own skin (important, when you haven't tanned!). 

If you have fair skin, you will go for lighter brown bronzers and depending on the undertones, you will choose a bronzer with neutral gold or peach tones. If your skin is more olive, then you will choose a bronzer in a dark brown shade, with red or orange tones.

How to correctly apply bronzer:

In order to achieve the ideal application of bronzer, you will need a fluffy brush, which will provide a uniform result and will blend the bronzer with the rest of the products. Ideally, the placement should focus on the areas naturally hit by the sun's rays, such as the nose, cheekbones, and perimeter of the face.

To find the cheekbones, the easiest trick is to slightly suck in your cheeks and apply the bronzer with upward movements (patting, without dragging the brush), blending it towards the temples and hairline to give a more natural result. With a small amount, you can sweep around your face to warm it up and create the perfect sun-kissed look!

Be careful not to bring the bronzer downwards, as we want to achieve an upward result on the face! Focus on the cheekbones, with upward movements!
