Huawei changes name in the P series and presents the Huawei Pura 70

Although Huawei is not going through the best period in terms of smartphones after the US embargo, it is a given that it does not stop investing and trying. Despite the fact that for several years now it cannot offer its mobile phones with the Android operating system, it has been fighting to remain active and thus takes the next big step.

12 years ago, the Chinese company introduced the Ascend P1, which was the first model in the P series. This is how we reached last year's Huawei P60 and Huawei P60 Pro, and this year we were expecting the next step. The new models will not be released as Huawei P70, but with a new name that will be used throughout the series. So, welcome the Huawei Pura 70, Huawei Pura 70 Pro, Huawei Pura 70+, and Huawei Pura 70 Ultra. Inside them is the Kirin 9010, which is manufactured by the company itself, and the truth is that we did not learn everything about the hardware in the first phase.

The Huawei Pura 70 has a height of 157.6 millimeters and is the tallest Huawei flagship in recent years. Its screen is LTPO OLED with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, it has a diagonal of 6.6 inches and a resolution of 2760x1256 pixels, and it is protected by Kunlun Glass. Inside, we have 12GB of RAM and storage space of 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB, while there is no slot for memory card usage. The two lenses of the Huawei P60 are here, while the third one is a new one at 50MP. Its battery has a capacity of 4900mAh and charges at 66W wired or 50W wireless, offering reverse charging at 7.5W.

The Huawei Pura 70 Pro and Huawei Pura 70 Pro+ come with 12GB and 16GB RAM, with the latter also supporting satellite messaging. The display, cameras, and batteries are the same in both models, featuring a 6.8-inch LTPO OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 2844x1260 pixels, protected by a new basalt technology seen in the Huawei Mate 60 RS, which is twice as durable as Kunlun Glass. On the back, we have 3 cameras. The main camera is 50MP with optical stabilization, the telephoto is 48MP, and the ultrawide is 12.5MP. And two cameras come with Super Focus Macro, which can focus at 5 centimeters from the camera.

The main feature of the new series is the XMAGE imaging system, which features a 50MP sensor the size of an inch. In the Huawei Pura 70 Ultra model, there is even a mechanism where the telephoto lens extends and retracts within the camera island itself to not protrude as much from the back. Huawei notes that it has been tested and can withstand up to 300,000 inward and outward movements and can capture images of objects moving at speeds of up to 300 km/h.

The Huawei Pura 70 Ultra comes with a curved 6.8-inch display on all 4 sides, LTPO OLED panel, FHD+ resolution, and a 120Hz refresh rate.
