The Quietest Room in the World!

The Quietest Room in the World!

THE QUIETEST ROOM IN THE WORLD IS LOCATED IN MICROSOFT'S HEADQUARTERS IN WASHINGTON! SO QUIET THAT THOSE WHO ENTER FREAK OUT AFTER A WHILE!

The walls of the room are made of six layers of cement and steel, there is glass wool (soundproof material) everywhere so that there is no echo, and the floor is a grid of floating cables that absorb sound!

IF A NAIL FALLS ON THE FLOOR OF THIS ROOM YOU WILL LITERALLY BE ABLE TO HEAR IT!
And not just the nail! It is so quiet that you will be able to hear your own breathing, the beat of your heart, and EVEN YOUR BONES RUBBING TOGETHER!

It's kind of scary, but imagine how unique an experience it would be to be able to hear all these sounds that have always existed within us, but are covered by all the other sound information around us!

This room took about a year and a half to build by Microsoft and they made it just so that there is a place in the world where you can feel - as literally as possible - absolute silence! (And mainly BECAUSE THEY COULD.)

It is difficult to handle in such a room for more than 45 minutes and most people freak out with all these new sounds that they suddenly can hear from their own body! (IMAGINE EVERY BREATH OF YOURS BEING NOISE!)

These fully quiet rooms are called anechoic chambers and because no sound passes through them from the external environment, they are useful for research related to acoustics, radiation emission tests, etc.

Try to imagine this feeling - not hearing ANYTHING, except for the sounds of your own body crystal clear for the first time!! Do you think you could handle it? I believe I would panic after 5-10 minutes.
